I just read an article where the National Weather Service is
predicting that the next three months will be drier and warmer than
normal.

Hmmm, warmer but not so sure about drier. Here, bookmark this and stay
abreast:

So, it will probably be colder and wetter than normal.

You got that right.

maximum exposure f/2.8

Consider moving a little more towards f/64.

Point of syntax: if death is certain, then you wouldn't be 'risking' it,
would you? More like 'encountering' certain...

Ha... "risking" is not binding with "certain", but with "death". Death
is the risk, even if certain since even certain death is an
unknown and therefore, a risk. Clear? Death is always certain. Death
is always a risk.

I thought for you guys it wasn't so much a risk, as an opportunity to
return as a higher being, e.g. a Randonee Skier?

If the return was guaranteed to be as a higher being, indeed. But
remember that by the laws of balance, you could just as easily return
as a snowboarder. And therein, lies the risk.

Some of us can't get beyond f/32.

Which is fine by me, because I'm not exactly the artsy-fartsy-photo
type anyway.

I'm deathly certain that you have it wrong. Being as how pinnas are at the
last stage before ascendancy, the risk would be that you might have to come
back as a AT skier and have to ski with locked heels again until you worked
out whatever little karmic struggle had you pinned(har) down.

But trying to follow klaus' logic in that paragraph above makes tele seem as
easy as snowboarding.

Death is certain, tele is a little trickier Bob

It depends if you've been a virtuous skier in this life. If you threw
beer tinnies off the chairlift, smoked dope on the gondola and
sideslipped reasonably good off-piste, you get reborn as a boarder.
If you smoked dope on the chairlift, drank witbier and faceplanted in
the off-piste, you get another try as a skier.

If you were perfect, you can escape the cycle of lifts and
reincarnations for an eternity of untracked bottomless powder - sounds
boring to me, but then what would I know about it?
