Nike Ski equipment

Many industries went through merger mania in the late 80's and into
the 90's. Consolidation is still happening albeit slower than the pace
of the previous few decades. The ski business has also had its fair
share, and I am wondering when Nike may have a go. 15 or so years ago
they got into hockey, and are now one of the dominant players in the
equipment line. in '96 or '97 Nike jumped into the golf business by
purchasing the assets of Accuform. Many in the industry laughed, never
thought they would make it. Now they are arguably one of the biggest
brands in the industry. So why not skiing/boarding?
