Default Scarpa F1

How well (or should I say, how badly?) does the Scarpa F1 ski? Any
comparisons to other AT boots? Is the touring/walking comfort worth the
tradeoff?

I put a pair on in a shop in Bavaria (Sport Conrad).

The cuff height, forward flex and lateral control of
the F1 felt a lot like the T2.

I think to ski with them on a regular basis, they will
need a spacing plate under the ball of the foot. The Dynafit
binding is supposed to use the boot sole as the binding
plate, and it suspends the boot above the ski. The bellows
break this design. My guess is that the flexible bellows
will make the bindings release too often without the plate,
or decrease the release effectiveness with the plate.

BUT, the really cool feature of the boot is the back buckle.
When its released, the range of motion in your ankle is
amazing. Basically the boot cuff is a free pivot and you
can stand upright, push your foot forward and point your
toe! It really surpised me because it was so unusual for
a ski boot. They must be great for touring, and I'm kicking
myself for not purchasing them.
