Best route from Geneva to Verbier by car?
"DMG" wrote in message . .. MS Autoroute says: around the top of Lake Geneva on A1 then A9 down to E27 towards Martigny follow road towards Les Valettes/Bagnes/Verbier. Any other options/advice? That's certainly the fastest, most direct route. The road on the south side of the lake is shorter but considerably slower, and not as scenic (unless you consider the Evian bottling plant scenic...) If you have half a day to spare, you can take the scenic route to Martigny via Chamonix, col des Montets, Vallorcine. Lots of beautiful mountain scenery, but *slow*. And make sure the col des Montets is open, it can be closed for a few days after heavy snowfalls. |
