Experience with order a Donek from Europe
Hi,
I've read a lot of positive reports about the Donek Incline. Has anyone here experience with ordering/shipping a Donek from Europe? Does it work? Another question With a weight of 70 kg and bootsize 10,5 I think the Incline 160 will fit perfect, or should I use the 164? -- Satisfy your thirst for life! NP: Eminem - Lose Yourself |

Another question With a weight of 70 kg and bootsize 10,5 I think
the Incline 160 will fit perfect, or should I use the 164? I have 10.5 boots (28.5mp) and am on a donek wide 161. I have to use angles of 30/15 to avoid boot drag. I think the incline may be too skinny for you, consider the wide instead. |

I think the incline may be too skinny for you, consider the wide instead. I agree with Jason - Incline would be too narrow. Especially if you're a 10.5 UK as opposed to US! Obviously you don't want to overdo it on board width because all else being equal, a narrower board changes edges faster resulting in easier carved turns. But, if you go narrow enough to drag toes and heels, you won't be able to do a carved turn at all 'cause you'll get launched out of it when your toe or heelcup hits the snow. I have US 8 / UK 7 / MP 26 boots and prefer the Wide. No boot drag at all, and I can still flip it from edge to edge as fast as I want to. I'm probably the extreme case... I've developed a strong carving technique on my hard boots and when I ride in softies, I tend to carve, carve, carve as well, so I'm less tolerant of overhang than others... but I can't imagine being on an Incline with mellow stance angles with your size feet! |

Go for the Sasquatch next time... It's a great board... so good I'm in the
process of getting another one. Well, I've had an interesting weekend. I tried on a bunch of boots at shops, and it looks like I definately should have bought a full size smaller (9.5 instead of 10.5). So maybe switching boots and going down a binding size will do the trick . |

the process of getting another one. Are you getting a bigger one? I'm quote curious to know what the Wide 169 / Sasquatch 170 feels like, for someone who's also ridden a Wide 161 / Sasquatch 162! |

Thank you, that is really a good clue. I consider how to get the board to Europe. Direct order is 425- Euro. This are 513 US$, the price in USA is only 370 US$. -- Satisfy your thirst for life! The $370 doesn't include shipping ($25 USD) since you might be able to pick it up in the US. I believe the rest of the price is accounted for various customs and taxes that are applied on US goods (isn't VAT like 20%?) --arvin |
