Tara Dakides to be on Letterman on Monday

SNOWBOARDING SUPERSTAR TARA DAKIDES RETURNS
TO CBS' "LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN," MONDAY, FEB. 21
Dakides to Attempt Snowboarding Backflip During the Broadcast
Seven-time Winter X Games snowboarding medalist Tara Dakides returns
to the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, Monday, Feb. 21 (11:35 PM-12:37
AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Dakides, a snowboarding innovator nicknamed "The Terrorizer" who has
won five gold and two silver medals in her Winter X Games career, will
talk to Letterman and, later in the show, attempt a backflip from a
ramp constructed outside the Ed Sullivan Theater.
This is Dakides' first appearance on the LATE SHOW since her memorable
visit to the show one year ago. During a snowboarding demonstration on
a taping of the LATE SHOW on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, Dakides, while
attempting her signature 'backside 360' jump, was injured when she slid
off the landing platform of the ramp, from which she was snowboarding
down outside the Ed Sullivan Theater, and fell to the pavement below.
After a short hospital stay, Dakides returned to the LATE SHOW that
following Monday, Feb. 9, 2004 to talk with Letterman about her fall;
during the interview, she also viewed video of the accident for the
first time.
