Thanks for the fix!

What a fun race to watch. Great camerawork.

Well, except in the last km when the camera was on the last guy and the announcers
were screaming about the windup to the sprint, but hey...it was still great! : )

Default Rats...errors with Janne's video files...help?

I got mine working at 4am last night.

:^]

I downloaded the DivX 4.0 Codex.

It really slows my 233mhz Pentium but the Voodoo video card comes through.

THANKS.

Default Divx codec (Was Rats...errors with Janne's video files...help?)

Why not make them plain mpegs so people don't have to go buying or

hunting for
codecs?

Do you supply me with 80 gig more of disk and double the bandwidth to all,

then
it's fine with me, because that is what happening if i don't use

compressing
algorithm that are effective enough. It would mean that a file that are

100meg
today
would be around 200meg in mpeg1 with the same quality.

This link will give you the divx player (I don't know what a codec is, or
how it relates to winamp, so I just downloaded the player). All I know is
that it was a fairly quick download, easy install, and runs Janne's files
beautifully.

Since DivX turn into a .com the trend in mpeg4 compression seems to be Xvid.

Requires less CPU than Xvid for the same quality.

The Source Forge http://www.xvid.org/

And a good compiled Code http://www.roeder.goe.net/~koepi/xvid.shtml

Any way to get the DivX player for free to watch the skiing without
the dreaded GATOR Spyware along for the ride?

thanks,
anatoly

I didn't realize that there was such a dramatic difference in size for the same
quality.

.... or, you don't have to post so many :-)

Post them all! I think it's fantastic the way you have it set up now
Janne! The DIVX codec is free, easy to find, and easy to install. Download
times are quicker and there's less storage space needed for all involved.
I thoroughly appreciate the difference in quality available with DIVX.

We are incredibly grateful for the service you provide us. Keep up the
great job - it's perfect the way it is, Janne.

Search for the latest "Nimo" codec package on the net or download my
own old copy ftp://avari181.mt.luth.se/pub/Nimo50Build7.exe

Intresting that you mention it, I was just experimenting with it on my Linux
system. The windows divx.com codec is to slow to cope with the video stream from
the grabber in realtime on my computer so i was trying xvid which to some extent
do it. But i have not tested it on windows yet.

I was more intrested in the ffmpeg verion of the divx mpeg4 encoder, which
said to be an assembler optimized version.
