Default Whistler

Going to Whistler second week in April (kids had time off school and I
couldn't resist $300 tix non-stop NY to Vancouver). I've never been there.
Heard its great but only from people who have been skiing much longer than
me (and my kids). Going with family and when we ski together we tend to
most ski on blue groomers (older son and I do some blacks in good conditions
but mostly we all ski together on the blues). I hate mush (would rather
ski ice). Any way, what can I expect in Whistler that time of year
conditions-wise and trails-wise?

Also, would love recommendations of condos, my taste is for ski-on ski-off
(or very short walk on walk off) but do not need luxury at all. Willing to
stay in less nice places and spend money on location. (Hopefully the $C
dollar won't strengthen between now and then.)

Damn, how did you get a $300RT to Vancouver? That's a great fare. Van is a
great city with amazing food and great places to walk. The drive to
Whistler is beautiful. Ski-in/out will be a little expensive, but you don't
really need it. The bus and walking system is so good, it's not really an
issue. If you like to party stay down in Whistler; if you want a more
controlled atmosphere stay up in Blackcomb. If you're staying more than 5
days, get a Gold Express Pass. Conditions should be great, but every
day/year is different at Whistler, except it's all good...
