How does the snow look. I know they have 40 runs open and the blacks
are on a rotating basis. Snow decent? Any rocks/mud showing on the
runs which are open? I prefer long cruising runs. Any suggestions on
which runs to run first?

Anyone suggest a few bars in town to visit. Something with cheap beer
and possibly some darts.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

I haven't skied there this year, but I hear the snow isn't that great. I'm
holding out until it improves (and my local skiing is good now so why
travel?).

For your second question, I always like to go to Eskes Brewpub in town. Not
really cheap, but good beer and good food.

Other good places to eat and drink are Outback Pizza, Orlando's (Great
mexican food but they don't take credit cards). The Holiday Inn has a decent
bar too, although I probably would never have gone to it if I wasn't staying
there.

Have fun!

I was there on Monday, ...

You went to Taos and you didn't get in touch with me? I skied there
Sunday - this damn' conspiracy isn't working worth a ****! I didn't get
a copy of the notes from the last meeting either! Who's the secretary
these days? Bev?!?

HAH! Clean up a filthy database and you're called a database
administrator. Fix some production problems and you're called a quality
specialist. But type ONE lousy letter...

No, I am NOT the secretary. If you'd bother coming to the meetings
you'd know this. ****, do we have to repeat EVERYTHING for your
benefit? What is this, some kind of brain-dead government thing?
Enough is just about enough. Get your **** together pretty damn soon or
you'll be out on your ear, do you get that bub?

And remember -- THERE IS NO CONSPIRACY.

I wouldn't call it exactly snow, but the surface is decent if one wants to
pretend to be Franz Klammer at Innsbruck in 1976. It is high quality
Eastern US ice, and nice sunny weather. Lots of the Expert inbound runs
are closed, or from what I saw, yesterday [...]

It's been an awful slow season so far. Like Ted says, it's firm - and
thin in the steeps. Ted got it right with the rocks in some of the
mogul troughs, but good cruising conditions if you like that sort of
thing.

You know what? It's ****ing SPRING here, summer will probably start
next week! My undead tomato plants have new flowers and STILL a few
unripened tomatoes, so I pulled the damn things up and threw them in the
trash. What is this? I still haven't finished raking up the goddam
leaves!

I told you, not until we meet somewhere besides IHOP. Seems to me like
if we were all blood-oath co-conspirators like we *say* we are, there'd
be a little empathy for those of us on Atkins. What's wrong with
Sizzler anyway?

We've already gone through this. THEY DON'T HAVE A PRIVATE ROOM. Do
you really want everybody else to hear about our plans? Are you NUTS?

****, do we have to repeat EVERYTHING for your benefit?

What, like it's my fault my sock ISP went TU? If the conspiracy can't
handle a little email bounce, how are we going to hack home accounts and
flood private email addresses?

You-know-who is working on the problem. You'll be notified when
everything is working IF YOU EVER BOTHER TO READ YOUR EMAIL, of course.
Just don't go off half-cocked chortle, there'll be plenty of time to
get it right.

What is this, some kind of brain-dead government thing?

Argh! Remind me in the future, no more retirees in the group - they
would always rather go and work in the garden than get serious about
slander.

You think sucking off the Social Security tit is EASY? Just wait,
buster, until you're crammed in a big room with 287 senior citizens and
the AC breaks down. Oh, wait. You're already a Federal drone, never
mind.

Enough is just about enough. Get your **** together pretty damn soon or
you'll be out on your ear, do you get that bub?

Fine, find someone *else* to file felony false police reports and fail
to comment upon the vile dweeb behavior in rsa! You think that's so
easy? Why don't *you* do that, and *I'll* email the rich, drop dead
gorgeous, blond doctor women about who they're dating.

You asshole, don't you realize I'm responsible for the goddam death
threats? Do you think it's EASY to devise death threats subtle enough
so that only the receiver can recognize their real meaning? If you want
to swap tasks fill out the goddam forms and submit them through the
proper channels.

And remember -- THERE IS NO CONSPIRACY.

Apparently not! I can't even get arrested!

Doesn't that tell you something?

I like the green chili at Doc Martin's. Extremely tasty. There's even
a recipe for it on the web (assuming that's the same Doc Martin's).

Last year Taos didn't start to get snow until about Feb 3rd. Then
it was good. Hope for a repeat performance. If Taos just got as
much snow as Jackson.....what an awesome place.

I was there last weekend and had a great time. They've groomed the bejesus
out of the main runs, so they're good steep corduroy. GS skis are the deal.
They opened part of Al's and all of Spencer's for a few hours at a time, and
the snow was soft and dry but you had to look sharp for bits of mountain
sticking through. Bright clear weather, tho -- it was a gas to see where
the hell we were going after playing blind man's buff all thru the holidays.

YES! YES, THEY DO! I mean the GRRLS do...or they did last season
anyway. I haven't been in there this season yet, but there was this
one grrl last year that worked the bar and she always wore a dirndl
and I'd make a point of going in there after skiing something fine
off Kachina Peak and she'd be wearing the dirndl that was tight and
low cut and the beer was good and she'd lean over and...and it
was...I just...I mean...oh, it was *so* FINE!

Kinda as I remember,,,,,

did she smell good?
