Question UK Sales of Second Hand equipment

Does anyone know if there are any sales of second hand alpine ski equipment? We need new skis for this winter and would like to purchase some that are one season old. London or South East England region.

Best way to get one season old kit is to be out in the Alps at the end
of the season and scour the shops. Loads of people want to get shot of
kit, often stuff that's been provided for seasonal workers and will be
replaced next year. You may also be lucky at the very beginning of the
season, as people buy new kit and want to offload last year's.

Not much help for what you want, I realise, but just an observation
for the future, perhaps.

eBay?

I'd guess that *most* second gear sold in the UK is more than a season
old, but will have only had a few weeks use. Stuff sold in the Alps at
the end of a season may have had a lot more hammer if it's been used
all season (as Ace says).

(as an aside I'm pondering selling my Rossi Scratch BCs with Power 120
bindings, perfect condition with about 4 weeks worth of use only. I
need to sell them in order to buy touring gear).

Steve

PS. What's this SkiBanter thing?

Edge2Edge ... http://www.edge2edge.co.uk/index.html ... sell ex-rental
stuff. I picked up my first snowboard from them a few years ago. They are
ex-rental but claim to have max of 4-6 weeks use.

Agree with other poster to get stuff from resort at end of season
although ex-rental is usually pretty knacked. If you go to France
skiing buy it new at Decathlon see (only in French and UK site is much
more expensive). Prices are generally much lower than in the UK.
Personally find likes of Snow & Rock complete rip-off.
see http://www.decathlon.fr/FR/index.html
see http://160.92.125.23/magasin/local/result_fr.asp for their shop
locations
