Enclosed ski racks
"Richard" wrote in message ... How important is it that a ski rack be enclosed? Richard D. That would depend on how well you want your bindings to work, and whether you have some alternate means of keeping road grime out of them. |

Enclosed ski racks
Very important - if you care about your skis, mostly about how safely their
bindings work. It takes a serious skier to detect how damage to their bottoms affects skiing. If your car otherwise has a factory set of rails on its roof, simply buy the cheapest ski bag available, put your skis in that bag, and tie it to that rack with rope. Don't bother buying a special ski rack. If you intend to throw luggage and miscellaneous other stuff "on the roof" (cause your vehicle is too small to fit stuff inside) buy a lifetime purchase "bullet box" like one of those name-brand (Thule) ones. It will also fit on the vehicle you someday get cause you're making more money. And it's still respectable!!!! Advice from a Serious Skier - from poverty to wealth days. Believe what you want - but my advice is good. Trust me - I'm on your side - in the Brotherhood of Skiers (which includes our Sisters). Brian in Seattle. - "Richard" wrote in message ...
