Good for about anybody. Katschberg has several chairlifts to the Tschaneck and the Aineck ski runs. The Aineck has a connection down to St. Michael. In all you might have some 60km of ski runs. There are short blue runs for the ski schools, several longer blue or red runs and two black ones. The black run from Tschaneck is not too difficult, the one from Aineck to Katschberg is supposed to be particularly difficult, but with exits to a neighbouring red run. You need snow tyres to get there, chains might be helpful. Once you are there you do not need your car, because all ski runs can be reached on skis (!) or after a one-minute walk. The ski schools frequently offer deep-snow excursions to the Britzhütte, which is "famous" for their Obstler schnapps. You can return to Katschberg with the help of a so-called bio-lift. (Find out for yourself what it is!) If you want to go dancing: there are some small après-ski places at Katschberg and a well-frequented disco called "Villa Kunterbunt" at Mariapfarr, 12 km away. Check he www.katschi.at If you happen to go there around Fasching (lent) you might meet me there. Turan |
