That's what the hotel reservation guy told me when I made hotel
reservations for Masters Nationals. I was trying to decide between
the cheap room($45) and a regular room($65) and then he told me that
the cheap one included a waxing bench IN THE ROOM. I'll believe that
when I see it!

This was at the race headquarters hotel. Not many rooms left, it
sounds like, at least in that hotel.

Does it have a hot box too or is it just a sauna?

Did he also let you know that the room also includes six dirtbags
sleeping on the floor with you? (One of them being me!)

The beds were reserved LONG ago---by 5 bums each, who reserved spaces for
sleeping crosswise.

Oh yes, those were the days doing the Natls at Reno...

(I recall hitching back to Reno from some races in the back of a pickup,
covered by tarps, with the rest of the team. But also once driving back,
in a Porsche, with a Finnish girl on my lap. So one must always stay open
to the cosmos...)

I had this experience at the Birkie one year. We stayed at a small motel
east of town and they told us that there were waxing facilities in the room.
It was about 6 beer cases stacked up, 3 on each side. Only in Wisconsin
would someone use beer cases that way.
