D'Isere/Thorens over Xmas??
Hi all,
Ok, so season is getting closer - wicked! Quick question if anyone has an opinion - looking at doing Xmas weekend again this year. Last year we went to Chamonix and the snow was pretty poor so this year I'm looking for a higher resort. Val Thorens is supposed to be pretty darn high - but Val D'Isere is also an option I'm considering. Any thoughts/pro's/con's - I've never been to either one. For reference purposes I've been to Verbier, Chamonix (many times), St. Anton, Squaw Valley. Cheers, catch you in the powder! Mike |

I spent a season in val thorens too. So difficult to chose but it depends what you want to do. Val thorens is nice place because it's in the 3 valleys area but too many lift to take to go, too many runs and so too many people, 3 differents pass for the 3 valleys or one expensive, and no sure for good snow in Xmas. For espace killy (tignes + val d'isere), big area too, good place, long run, normally good snow in Xmas. Val d'isére is more expensive than Tignes so.... What can i say ??? if you have question, ask... Bye and maybe see you soon (it snowed last week end) |
