Try the travel operators sites ThomasCook, Thomsons, FirstChoice or MyTravel
Specialist Companies Neilsen, Crystal
Ask about Learn to Ski packages as these are good value for total beginners

If you're really looking for cheap try MyTravel have a week SC in Pas de la
Casa (Andorra) for £150 each incl flight and transfer. Leaves this Sunday
from Gatwick

Try Equity Total Ski - they do a complete package including pass, ski/boot
hire & tuition. We used them a number of times earlier in our skiing
careers and had no complaints. they are cheaper than the normal package
tour companies. Phone them on 01273 298298

Dunno how good they are at last minute discounts, though. And they
tend to use their own hotels, which mostly means British hotel food.

Equity certainly don't use all their own hotels - we have stayed in
excellent locally run establishments in Folgarida and in Passo Tonale,
going with Equity. Agreed about the last minute discounts though -
less likely than with bigger companies.

Iglu are excellent for late deals - and I've yet to have them send me
anywhere not 'as described'. Thats not to say we haven't been some
cheap and nasty places but all were 'as expected' ;-)

http://www.igluski.com - currently prices start from £99 for this
weekend
If that fails try www.teletextholidays.co.uk - its a good late deal
portal to other sites.

For a 6 day french lift pass budget at least £100 - more at a big name
resort - but for beginners somewhere small is fine anyway. Andorra is
cheaper but the Pas (most common late deal resort) hotels are
definately cheap and nasty. On the plus side Andorran instruction is
cheap and good, as is the ski hire. French ski hire about E70 (£50)
for skis and boots for 6 days, instruction I'm not sure of but I think
at least £70 for a weeks worth of lessons. You also probably need to
buy specialist ski clothes - decathlon have some good deals for that
(london/birmingham/sheffield iirc)

Wuld recommend Les Arcs (short ski teaching and a cheap all in one
lift pass/ski hire/instruction package) - my friend was paralleling on
his second day. Or If you are not fussy about food/hotel/town
prettiness then Pas in Andorra is a good buget beginners choice...sure
others on here wil have plenty of recommendation - just a little
something to get you started...

Can't remeber what else was in your post - hope that covers
everything...

Finally good luck and have fun!

skiworld have there late deals available on the web. Leaving this
weekend is about half price discounts are less further out. These
tell you where you are staying and so you do not have the accomodation
lottary. I have skied with them a few times and found them very good
although I have never used their late booking.

Look at the special deals on www.skiworld.ltd.uk.

Carl
