differences between salomon 6, 7, 8, 9, 10?

I'm wondering what the difference is between the salomon x-wave 6, 7, 8, 9,
10 etc. Is it just the stiffness of the plastic and the flex? The reason
I'm especially curious is because there is such a jump in price each level.
Is the 6 essentially the same boot as the 9, just stiffer plastic and
smaller liner?

You will find the foot shape stays the same throughout the X-Wave line.
Boots like the 9 and 10 may be made from the same plastic but have a few
feature differences in the liner (different insulation, heat moldable, etc)
and shell (canting, vibration absorption, buckles, etc). Between the 8 and 9
you'll probably get a shell hardness difference along with feature changes.
The 7 and 8 will probably share shell hardness but the buckles and other
shell features will change. Anyway, it goes on like that. The best way to
discover the exact differences between models is at the Salomon website. In
years past it provided phenomenal information on the boots.
