Default Warmer Alps...

Hi all,

I'm having great difficulty this year booking the first week of April due
to the great snow, and cold temperatures that have preserved it, over the
Alps. I say difficult but I mean finding it difficult to find a cheap
deal. Anyway, sadly, the latest weather models are indicating a
significant warming from Tuesday 15th March onwards with temperatures
reaching 12degC at 1500m, with strong sunshine too. I may wait until a few
days before 2nd April before booking.

Joe

PS Anyone with any pointers with accommodation/chalets/cheap deals, all
are very welcomed !

Best thing to do - wait until after Easter then jump, hotels will love a
booking for April. Overnight it'll be cold on the slopes, so you'll be fine
until lunch time in any event. Resorts with north-facing slopes should be
fine, I know Laax will be OK 'cos it's high and you can select the correct
side of the mountain to ski on.

It has been effing cold here, I'm looking forward to a bit of heat and sun.

According to my sources Brides les Bains in France will be reaching up to 19
degrees on Friday morning....

This spells complete disaster for the recent good snow conditions, and it
seems like its going to be un-seasonally warm. Meribel which is where I'm
going on Saturday will be a toasty 13 degrees maximum on friday morning!!!!

Bye bye snow!

Same here, not unseasonal - in mid-March you can get almost any temperature.

There will be plenty of snow, I've never seen a late season with little
snow.
