Can you have a beer on the terrace?

Hi,

Been to Flaine the last couple of years at this time and it has always been
"warm". Nothing nicer than stopping after a couple of runs for a beer on the
terrace near the lifts at Flaine Foret.

It seems to be much colder this year - can you still enjoy the sunshine or
is it just too cold?

Anyone just back can pass on first hand experience?

Out of the wind and in the sun it gets warm. In the wind out of the sun it
gets bitter. Not Flaine but ......I was up at the Col du Barme refuge hut 2
weeks back at Le Tour....managed to sit out in the sun for a full 10 minutes
before by fingers froze to my can ;-) At lower levels out of the wind it was
very pleasant on occasions, and very unpleasant an hour earlier!

It all depends on whether the sun comes out or not, and if its windy. Best
just tool up for anything (I carry a flask of hot Vin Chaud!).....

You won't be doing that this year if it's the bar I think you're talking
about (Bissac)... It's now a burned out shell !

Took us by suprise back in Feb, as we liked that bar for a "end of day
in the sun" drink too... their lunches were also pretty good.

It'll be back next year.

A friend took some excellent photos of a restaurant above Meribel
burning down, but they rebuilt it over the summer.
