Trip report - Stowe, Vermont - 13 Dec 2003
I skied yesterday at the Trapp Family Lodge trails. Conditions on
average were fair, but this average includes good conditions on some trails and poor conditions on others. The main trails up to the cabin were open, with the Haul Road open only down to the Oslo trail (that is, above the Chute). Some trails had patches of ice, water features, or gaps that used to be water features. Still, it was a pretty good ride down the Haul Road from the cabin to the Ranch Camp trail junction. The Parizo trail was a little too icy by the end of the day. Of course, this report is going to be out of date by tomorrow morning after tonight's expected snow. And, like last week, there is rain expected for midweek. But, if you believe the long-term forecast, Wednesday's rain should be followed by snow on Thursday. Can't wait for the official start of winter ... Lew Lasher Cambridge, Massachusetts and Stowe, Vermont |
