And I can't apologize for expressing my views. I consider it a moral
duty. I just challenge people who claim they vote conservative because of
their Christian beliefs to read the book in which the evolution of their
faith is recorded rather than taking the words of George W. Bush, Pat
Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Ralph Reed, and their minions as the Gospel.

I think it was appropriate to consider the words of George W. Bush in this
election since he was one of the candidates.

As for the rest of those source, I would challenge you to consider the
possibility that some conservatives actually rationalize why they vote the
way they do, rather than assuming they take whatever they're fed by the
likes of Robertson, Fallwell, Reed, and others at face value. Many
conservatives come to their conclusions because they truly find issues like
partial birth abortion and gay marriage reprehensible, not just because they
were told to say that by someone else. On the other hand, they'll accept a
war as long as they feel it's for the long term security of their children
and grandchildren.

It cuts both ways. For every Jerry Falwell, there's a Michael Moore. For
every Rush Limbaugh, there's an Al Franken. Always blowing the facts out of
proportion to emphasize their own point of view. However, I'm realistic
enough to know that not every liberal believes Michael Moore and Al Franken
is telling them the truth. Instead, they identify with the Democratic point
of view more than they do the Republican, so that's why they vote that way.
If I can give that benefit of the doubt to those who voted for John Kerry, I
would hope you could consider that you're making false assumptions about
conservative voters as well.

On the contrary, I would argue that the voters this election (including
Christians) considered issues more intently than they have in the last 30
years . . . ignoring the extremists and weighing the views of those who are
more rational, and yes, even consulting their Bibles. The high voter turnout
shows that they cared enough to make their vote count, and the possibility
that it might have been very close encouraged them that much more.
