Default Skiing weather (Europe) over next few weeks?

I am heading for the hills for a week or so, maybe 21 or 28 Jan
departure.

Does anyone know if there any meaningful weather forecast available for
that sort of time ahead that might assist me in choosing which week to
go?

I am just looking for basic stuff. Likelihood of a bit of sun.

I usually go to France (I speak a wee bit of French) however I guess
that the availability of a longer term forecast might sway me.

You're in luck, there will be wall to wall sunshine for the week 28 Jan - 3
Mar
Except for a single cumulo nimbus ( 257mts wide) crossing directly over Val
D'Isere on 1 March at 14:37 local time.

I've been looking at the 'precipitation' charts on weatheronline.co.uk.
You'll be able to find it by clicking on 'expert maps' at the top of
the homepage.

It looks like next week is going to be dry across most of Europe but
the forecast for the week after that (beginning Sun 22nd Jan) changes
substantially every time that i check. Overall though, it looks like
there is going to be at least a couple of showers during that week )

Does anyone know of a better resource? Metcheck.co.uk have a really
nice website but the snow forecasts, for the UK at least, seem to be
rarely accurate.

Don't waste your time. Such a long-range forecast is essentially
meaningless.

Best just to head for a mid-level resort such as Les Arcs 1800. That
way, if it snows, you can head down into the trees at Arc 1600. If
there's a snow shortage, you can head high to Arc 2000.

Everywhere in France right now has enough snow to last through until
Jan 21 / 28. Wherever you choose, it is likely that your week, at that
time of year, will see a few days of blue sky, interspersed with a few
days of cloud or snow.

If I had to pick French resorts that are renowned for their sunny
climate, it would be Alpe d'Huez and Isola 2000.

What temperature for 27th Jan to 4th Feb?

BTW my crystal ball shows a small violent thunderstorm on 13th Feb
that'll leave a couple of inches of large hail on otherwise hardpacked
pistes in its path, resulting in a completely unskiable surface like
loose ball-bearings.
