Snowboard Shops in the Beaverton, OR??
I'm going to visit my sister in Beaverton, OR. I want to get my board tuned
before I head off to Mt. Bachelor. Are there anything great places in or around Beaverton to get my board tuned? Thanks, John |

Ski Chalet, 4800 SW 76th Ave Portland 97225 503-297-1891 That's in the Raleigh Hills shopping center. I've had really good luck with them over the years. My board is in top form right now, thanks to them. |

Hey John,
You might also consider getting your board tuned in Bend. We are located on Galveston next to the West Side Bakery and our staff is friendly and helpful. If you're lucky maybe we'll divulge some of the secret spots to hit at Bachelor. There's a few more stores in the portland metro area worth checking
out. US Outdoor Store is smack in the middle of downtown, and it gets bonus points for having the hottest sales staff. Castle Snowboards (aka The Mountain Shop) is just NE of downtown and I have one reccomendation that they do very good tuning work if let them know you're picky. Another friend just had a blown edge repaired there, and the work looked real good to me. I've had tuning and repair work done at Gorge Performance (which is a bit south of downtown) and overall they did ok. They didn't quite understand something I asked for on tuning (de-tune tip and tail to keep the board from hooking), but they did do a good job on a repair. BTW, beaverton kinda blows... it always feels like one gigantic strip mall to me. If you're looking for fun while you're here, be sure to get out of there. The train makes it pretty easy to get into downtown if you won't have access to a car. |
