Default Engetal T-Bar in Murren,Switzerland

At last they will be replacing the T-Bar with a 2 seater chairlift for
the next 06/07 season ..

Another lift they are replacing is the funicular from Lauterbrunnen to
Grutschalp with a cablecar but this time its a shame as its been going
since 1891 but due to safety it needs to be done.

Excellent - about time! I believe they've been intending to do it for years,
but money has been a problem.

Also for next season? It seems a bit of a shame, as you say. It works; it
might not be fast, but who cares? You only do it once a day at most.

I'd prefer it if they spent the money on providing a better way up to the
upper slopes. The cable-car is often very busy. A chair up from say the
top of the Schiltgrad, or the Joch at the bottom of the Kanonenrohr (just
beyond Allmendhubel) to somewhere around the bottom of the Muttleren or
Kandahar chair would IMHO be money better spent.

I think it was down to the location aswell as the area is prone to
avalanches so aswell as the new lift they are installing avalanche
equipment to protect the lift structure and keep the pistes open, like
they have done on the Kanonenrohr.

There has been rumours for years about installing a gondola at
Blumental to the bottom of the Muttleren but it never happened. The
other rumour was to extend the ski area but again another rumour.
