Which new board ??
Hey guys -
I am in the process of buying myself a new board, I currently ride a Salamon Driver 160 (which was their wide model) but as I have UK 8 feet, I don't want a wider board than i need. I am 5`8, 190lbs (82kg) and have been boarding a couple of seasons and would class myself as an intermediate rider. I want an all mountain board - sometimes venture into the park - but avoid the pipe. I can afford up to £300 and have come across a number of boards that seem suited - but how to choose "the one" is beyond me. I even spent yesterday at the Daily Mail Ski & Snowboard Show in London, and left with quite conflicting views !! The choices available seem to be: Ride Profile 160 - love the specs, don't like the graphics Rome solution 159 - similar to above Option redline 158 - specs and graphics seem good Sims fader 158 - graphics are great - but wife disagrees ! Palmer classic 157 / 161 - looks good, cheaper than the rest, but some conflicting views. If anyone has had experience of the choices - or has anything to add - please help !! Thanks - AJ |

Which new board ??

The graphics don't matter because firstly people have different opinions so you might have them, but they could be the coolest on the hill. Secondly, the top sheet spends a lot of time covered in snow anyway, so you don't see much of it. I had one of the first Burton Canyons which came in a sickly green colour. It was disgusting, but I didn't care. The board was good. - Dave. -- The only powder to get high on, falls from the sky. http://www.vpas.org/ - Snowboarding the worlds pow pow - Securing your e-mail The Snowboard FAQ lives here - http://rssFAQ.org/ |

If the topsheet graphics are crap just sticker the heck out of it. Any shop
worth it's salt should give you a bunch of stickers when you buy a snowboard from them. |
