ski choice

Hi,

I'm looking for a proper ski for me.

I'm an advanced skier, 5'8, 190 lbs.

I would say that I ski agressivelly. I had 172 cm Atomic GS 11 race
(21.5 m radius). I was satisified with these, but the radius was a
little to big. Well, as it is, someone stole them and I was back to my
previous skies, Atomic ARC24, 195 cm. These are terrible for normal
skiing. They only work for very large and fast curves.

I would like something in range of 15-17 m radius, 170-180 cm height.
What would you recommend in that range. Atomic SL9/11 ?

I like my ski to be a little harder (obviously).

Atomic yes, or Fischer Worldcup RC in 175cm (16m radius).

The SL11 is the One True Ski, but I'd look for it in a shorter length
than that. If you liked the GS11 in 172, I'd say maybe a 160 for the
SL11. Try a couple lengths and see what you think.

Try to get a Stockli ski, a snake or something

If you are not actually racing, why not get a ski that will allow a
larger variety of turn shapes? Demo the Atomic Metrons, the Blizzard
Crosses, The Volkls..... There is a ski picker application at
skimag.com...... Go to eBay and buy a few pairs of skis with a
variety of turn radii for less than one new pair!

A slalom ski will allow all the variety of turn shapes you want, from
tight to figure 11s.

Check the Stockli GS ski. You seem to like stiffish race skis.
But.
If you like them fast, damp and fast, have a look at the stockli SCs. I have
a pair, and love them to death unless we head off piste in which case it's
jump turns or die. But they are fast and turny and strong and stable AND
awesome in bumps. just horrible in powder.

but if you just like them fast and strong on piste, go the GS.

Well, after throught thinking and talking to local ski experts, I'm
leaning toward smaller radius.
I'm thinking of:
* Fischer RC4 WorldCup SC or RC4 Race SC - what is the real difference
between these two (stiffness wise)
* Atomic SL 11
* Volkl WorldCup SC

I don't have much oportunity to demo and I cannot order them from eBay
(europe country where is no PayPal).
