the use of podium girls. Here's an example:

For most, I suspect that IS the best thing bicycle racing ever had
going for it - period. Anyway, my question is: Has ski racing ever
used podium girls/guys (for woman's races) as part of the victory
celebration? I don't recall it. I think we should all petition FIS
to start using podium girls/guys at races. I think this practice
would draw more fans to the sport.

Thoughts?

I know the cold weather would be an issue. I think it would be
possible to have warm air blown up onto the podium so that the ladies
cold wear Podium Girl appropriate clothing. However, we don't want it
too warn up there because chilly air and scantly dressed girls does
have its benefits.

Then again, even warm clothing on a Podium Girl would be very nice.
Remember the Obermeyer adds on the back of Ski Mags back in the day?

And of course, not to forget the race ladies - the same can be done
for them with podium guys.

Of course! Perfect! And just enough chilly air on the podium. I'm
tellin' ya - the crowds at Apline events in the US will double - maybe
triple.

If neither, do you think he still uses turtle wax on his bases?

Last I heard he went to sea. Here's a video of him piloting the boat:

And here's one of him dropping the anchor:

This link didn't work.

And this one impressed me as to how rugged
the workboat was.
