Default "downloading"?

"Please note that early season conditions means there may be unmarked
hazards on the runs that are open. Terrain is available for intermediate
to advanced skiers and riders only. Downloading is mandatory."

What does "downloading" mean?

What does "downloading" mean?

Riding the lift downhill. Taken in context, it means the upper lifts are
servicing rideable terrain, but you'll have to ride the lower lifts down.

Thank you. That is what I suspected it ment. Since there is no snow on
the lower part what do you do with your board? Carry it?

Usually you wear it like normal, and they have some mats that you
offload onto like a dryslope.

At Timberline (Mt Hood) downloading one lift is a way of life all summer -
and you carry your board. It's really not that big a deal. (You have to
carry it up the lower lift as well)
