Default Rockered skis are the future - confirmed!

As I suspected, a properly rockered ski (in this case Rossignol S7)
blows paleo-skis out of the water in just about any conditions. I've
skied my pair now for 4 days and I'm positively amazed - I knew they
would kick ass in all kinds of soft snow but their behaviour in the
steep/hard took me by surprise. How can a ski which is 117mm under the
boot feel this good on hardpack? I skied some +35 degree couloirs on
hard (but non-icy) conditions and these things kicked ass. It's even
possible to make carving turns with these things if necessary. I
suspect the ~1 meter effective edge (188cm - tip&tail rocker) makes
the bite so dependable. Kick-ass!!! On soft snow these things were
sooo much better than old-school skis which have tips that need to be
"driven"...I was just surfing through steep places with dodgy soft
snow while observing that my (luddite) friends were struggling, even
though they are strong skiers!

I've seen the future and it looks helluva good!! Booyah!!

I've heard that there are companies making this deal with two skis and a
cogged rubber belt - you can even get it with a gas engine. They say
it'll go anywhere and no skill at all is needed from the rider. Maybe
that's the wave of the next future after your future?

We can't have anyone being better at something than anyone else can
we? Think what that would do to their self esteem ! Oh the horror !!

I'm going to get one of those new ball and driver combo's. All you
have to do is hit the ball and it goes in the hole. So as you see,
it's still a sport. You have to hit the ball. Once I have one of those
I'll be going professional. I'll be 52 under every game !!!!!!

Hey hotshot you think modern equipment obliterates skill differences??
Think again please

If you and Mr. Truckee are so hell-bent on complicating skiing by
using stupid equipment, why don't you just ****ing change to
telemarking?? Fixing the heel is such a cop-out you bunch of losers!
Hah!

Reasonable people seek challenges from the terrain, not from their
equipment. If you're not being challenged, seek bigger and steeper
runs goddammit!

Oh, the horror.

We really thought we were onto something when they invented those
hook-like doohickeys that you screwed into your wood ski on the sidewall
a couple of inches in front of the heel. You could slip your front-throw
binding cable into the hooks on each side and holy cow your heel would
be more or less held down. Made skiing so much easier, it felt like
cheating.

Next thing you know, Head started making these metal lam skis and things
were ruined forever.

I stayed with wood skis until I pulled the toe binding screws out in
1966 - I still have that pair, mounted on the cabin wall.

Geez, Tranny Boob, maybe they would become stalking cowards who lie to
the cops and spew **** on the internet because they are complete
pussies who wear diapers!!!!
Think about how low YOUR self esteem has to be at the moment,
considering how much we laughed at you today when you didn't have the
balls to show up at the Canyons, you dickless coward.

No, he thinks he is a hotshot and he clings to the notion that being a
good skier makes him manly.
Of course, everyone here knows that he is perhaps the least manly
pussy in a newsgroup full of pussies.
He pppppppuuuuuussssssiiiiiieeeeeedddddd out today, as I am in the
neighborhood and gave him a month's notice I would be skiing the
Canyons.

You rock. Those luddite assholes confuse manliness with using old
equipment, when everybody knows what pathetic lying piece of ****
cowards they are.

Reasonable people seek challenges from the terrain, not from their
equipment. If you're not being challenged, seek bigger and steeper
runs goddammit!

Reasonable people are not pathological liars. Dickless Bob Thompson
had a challenge today to man up and call me a child molester to my
face a half hour away from his home. And we all know that Diaper Bob
crapped his pants at the mere thought of doing so.
