Default Madonna Di Campiglio - Ski vacation mid March 2005, some tips

Madonna Di Campiglio - Ski vacation mid March 2005, some tips.

- Very nice area, big variety of slopes.
- Very good for beginners and intermediate.
- Snow condition at mid March can be marginal; some of the lower slopes
had poor conditions, if I would go again I would rather prefer mid
February just to be on the safe side, though it can yet be quite cold
that time.
- Relatively expensive resort.
- Notice that kids under 8 can get a free ski pass, a document with a
proof of age is required.
- Free bus shuttle between ski bases and most hotels about every 30
minutes, alternatively Taxi cost is about 10 Euro.
- Our favorite ski area was the Groste-Groste, very good area for
beginners to practice,
- Much fun at Boch (Groste mid station) and maybe other locations at
lunch break around 2pm with Disco dancing etc.
- Ski-School representatives usually show at Evenings at main hotels
lobbies.
- Very limited English speaking ski-school guides and help.
- Notice ski-pass is not good for some T-Bars of beginners requiring an
additional ticket.
- Ski equipment rented by Ski school (Nazional) was in good quality at
least in our case.
- Not sure how much ski lessons are effective; need luck to get a good
English speaking guide especially if you do not know any Italian.
- Spinale Club Hotel, nice hotel, very convenient ski-in ski-out from
Spinale base, long and tasty served dinners (might be too long for
impatient kids) , nice breakfasts, small pool.
- Ski map is a bit confusing; some downhill slopes have some flat parts
unnoticed on map (lane 24 as an example)
- Watch Lane 27 quite difficult, marked red but feels black.
- A nice very easy lane from Groste base to Spinale base is lane 33
- Notice the Ski carpet over the bridge connecting between the Groste
base and Pardaloga lift.

Enjoy
