What annoys me is the length of time its taken from the last Olympics to reach this decision,
we are already into the new season.
I wouldn't want a hasty rushed response but surely THEY could act more quickly.

The article at fasterskier.com I saw explained that decision was
rendered before the season. Since the violation was at the Games, the
matter was referred to FIS only after the Olympic Cmte had finished its
process. There were also 6 athletes involved, no positive tests, only
equipment and materials, and the whole thing started with the Italian
police, which is yet another organization. Consider that 1yr 4 months
after Landis' initial positive test, his appeal to CAS was only filed
last week, and that's with just one chain of organizations involved.
