Lapland lake conditions 1/29/06

Hi to all,

Skied Lapland Lake trails today. Ski report from their site stated
"100% operation" and" very good ski conditions".

Around noon, I noticed many people leaving in their vehicles and
wondered why? As it turned out, the trails were very rough, poorly
groomed and very thin with several bare spots. Of the three major
hills, the second and third were closed. The 15 to 17 inches of snow in
the woods according to the web site was more like 8 to 10 inches.

Many of my skier friends have cautioned me about the "sugar coated"
condition report that is routinely published on their site.

When it comes to Lapland Lake Skiing, Skier Beware!
