Skiing in Fairbanks AK
Hello everyone.
I have been skiing in Fairbanks for years. I ski at UAF, Birch Hill, and Moose Mountain. If you are from Fairbanks, or live near by please share where you ski. I'd like to have some more options. UAF- great for beginners and tons of trails, cross country Birch Hill Rec- great for advanced, and has some steep hills, cross country or downhill Mountain- advanced downhill, can be very challenging Thank you Elizabeth |

They just sit behind their computers bitching to each other things that are irrelevant to skiing. There are only a couple of people here who get out more than a couple of days a year and a few that haven't skied in a couple of years. Good luck, you might want to check out the forums on http://www.epicski.com/f/. This newsgroup has been nothing but flamewars for over a decade so there are no real skiers left here. |

I did a quick google and also found Mt. Aurora Skiland apparently near you - how does it compare to the others you mentioned? We California skiers are suffering under a continuing climate change caused drought, but still getting turns (see elsethread.) Haven't really heard - how's your snowfall compared to "normal?" Any climate change impact? How about down Anchorage way? Any first hand comments? PS In spite what you read elsethread, there is a continuing undercurrent of actual ski interest and ski talk here; it's like looking for gold on the beach at Nome - lots of gravel; but there's still gold. |

Now I can barely walk and stairs are very painful due to my knees. But winning makes it all worthwhile. We are getting killed with the snow here on Long Island, Windham and Hunter got 12 to 14 inches yesterday. Remember Ski fast -Take chances..... |

I've been plowing and shoveling for two days and I only got half my driveway done. There is no place where it's not over the top of my snowblower. Yesterday I used up a whole tank of gas in my snowblower. I've never done that before. This signature is now the ultimate power in the universe |
