A-basin's still open, as are Mammoth and Alpine in California. Jump a plane and ski in the sun...unless it's snowing when you get there. We just had a brutal front come through. I waited for a break from what I thought was the main front and went to walk dogs. At least I took my rain gear. About 1/2 hour into the walk, it got ugly. Serious wind, something in between hail and graupel, in a complete downpour, and my personal favorite, big and close lightning. Like flash-pop, with damn near no delay. I hear there are major power outages in the valley and four semis blew over at Point of the Mountain, in the south valley. According to the news, the temperature dropped 25 degrees in 20 minutes.. Wow. And Big Cottonwood Creek is *RAGING* and they are predicting up to an inch of rain in the next few hours down low.. a foot of snow up here. Hang on.. this could get interesting. As usual, I have a meeting in the valley in the morning. heh.. timing and all that. The news just came on and they said it was 8 semis and two Fed X trucks blown over. Both lanes of I15 were closed for a while, now just southbound is closed. Most of the semis were pulled off the road just sitting there waiting it out.. They're saying 78 mph in the valley! damn.. gotta respect spring. -klaus |

When semis get blown over around here, that's what they get blown off of. It also ices up in the Cajon Pass, which is amazing because that's DESERT. -- Cheers, Bev ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ "Why put fault tolerance in the OS, when it's already built into the User?" -- Steve Shaw, regarding Win95 |

And you are so nice, so kind, so utterly above any moral or ethical misbehavior that you are completely unaware of how decent people are impressed by you. Thanks Scott, glad we agree. Lisa |
