And don't forget the Maasto Hiito trails in Hancock.

And don't forget Michigan Tech, in Houghton MI, the base of the gorgeous
Keeweenaw peninsula. Wild woods past Copper harbor, great place to
MTBike and camp along the shore. Virgin timber. Tech is probably
better academically than NMU, certainly if your daughter is bent in a
scientific way. Great refurbished trails right on campus, a downhill
area just across the canal, and the swedetwon trails just a half hour
away . . .

Thanks to everyone who responded, especially to Jeremy who mentioned the
book, One Week in March: A Manual for Prospective Collegiate Nordic
Skiers. We ordered and received a copy and it is an excellent resource
with detailed information on each college that has a skiing program,
including club programs. There is an new edition due out in June.

My daughter has decided to visit UVM, St. Michaels, Middlebury, St.
Lawrence and Clarkson during our trip next week.

Another New England college that definitely has recreational
cross-country skiing on campus is Colby College in Waterville, Maine.

Not sure, but possibly some of the University of Maine campuses such as
Farmington or, here we go again, Presque Isle (UMPI, which rhymes with
"bumpy") or Fort Kent (UMFK, which doesn't rhyme with anything).

Stowe, Vermont and Cambridge, Massachusetts

UMFK does kind of rhyme with "dumb luck"...

and yes University of Maine Presque Isle will have a full time coach
and team starting this next year.
