Week before Christmas: Where?
We're about to oragnise a week's skiing before Christmas. We could put
off the hotel/apartment booking for a bit, but flights are starting to get a bit pricey so we want to commit to an airport at a minimum. Usually we'd go somewhere like Tignes or Val Thorens that early, but there's no snow (yet). So how about St Anton, where we've never been? Is that a good idea? Is anywhere in Switzerland looking good that early, or anywhere else in France? (We're in the category of pretty good skiers compared to your average English holidaymaker, fairly poor compared to most native Austrians. We want a good selection of red/black pistes but won't do much off-piste). |

You can always come here.
50cm snow in the village about 100cm at the top. Look he- www.hochkoenig.at The lifts are open this weekend and next and then open form 8th December. As the above poster says we have alot of snow which will provide a good base. It might get warmer but so can anywhere in the Alps.
