Default Elpex Off Road Roller Skis?

For anyone using the Elpex off road roller ski do you need a high
plastic cuffed boot to classic, or can you get away with a lower cut
classic boot? I remember my Jenex 150's were next to impossible to
classic on with low top boots and I wasn't about to put those
outriggers on them.

Brian Knutson at Gear West in Minneapolis strongly recommends a combi
boot for off road classic...if fact he encourages the use of combi boot
for classic rollersking on pavement. I use a lower level Salomon combi
for both my Elpex off roads and Pro Ski C2's and have found that I get
plenty of support. Bonus...your classic boots last a lot longet if you
don't subject them to the stress of summer skiing.

I've always used cuffed combi boots for classic roller skiing without a
problem.

I've also used V2 150CS roller skis for classic, and have found the
outriggers to be quite valueble. I keep them adjusted to their highest
position, so they rarely touch the ground anymore. You just need one
on the outside of each ski.

Elpex makes "wanna be" off-road roller skis. If you want REAL off-road
skate roller skis ... you have to make them yourselves.
