Some of us are about fairness. I'm not rich. But I'm not so angry or jealous at those that have more than me that I expect them to give it to me.

Reduce spending, waste, fraud. Get those able bodied, breeding cows, off of entitlements. Compare addresses of the welfare roles to cable tv, cell phone, luxuries like that and deduct those amounts from their benefits. Test for alcohol, drugs, tobacco. If you have money for those things, you don't need my money. Tax me for the military, roads, some for schools but not as extravagantly as currently.

Collect al sharpton's $4.5 million in back taxes. Collect the billions owed by IRS workers. Make a show of doing the right first.

My accumulated sick leave was payed to me at full salary equivalent when
I retired. You should have worked at a honest company.

I've had mine since 2011. Haven't lost 1 minute from cell phone time. But during the shopping process I was thinking the same thing. We were actually shopping for a watch for my wife.

What the asshole says and what actually happens are two different
things. Same with the rest of the governments.

I resent the fact that we have saved and invested at least half of our
lifetime income only to have it taxed away for the benefit of people
who -- for one reason or another -- weren't willing or able to do
that. I DEEPLY resent paying people to live better than I do.

When I worked I took very few sick days. When I was canned I had
accumulated over 700 hours that I could have spent on the slopes; I
had access to the records and knew that some people took it as fast
as they earned it and others spent it more judiciously, but NOBODY
had as much as I did. Those hours disappeared when I was terminated.

Yeah, I was ****ed about that too.

You read that somewhere, didn't you? Is it evil to think that average
working people should have planned better when they had the chance? We
earned what we have. We worked for it. We were working people.
Weren't/aren't you?

A flat tax would ensure that rich people paid more tax than poor people.
As it is, 50% of the people pay NO income tax. Half of California's
state tax take goes toward public education, and we spend the most per
student and get the least.

Do you actually believe a single word that government tells you? Have
you ever bothered to do income tax several ways to see how much you
would pay at various income levels? I haven't because I don't really
care. They're taking what they want from me at gunpoint. What good
does it do to worry about the morality? As long as they spend our tax
money on stuff that they shouldn't -- fancy buildings, travel, projects
to keep them getting elected -- they're thieves and there's nothing we
can do about it.

This is NOT the way it was supposed to be.

That would be stupid under any circumstances. Stupid people buy
flash.

I was looking at watches a few years ago and the Rolex's and
Breitling's were just too large. Bezels a quarter inch high, and yes
too flash. I settled on a Tag Link. A very comfortable band, simple
black face, stainless case, sapphire crystal. Very understated. And a
couple thousand less than the previously mentioned ones.

I doubt that anyone ever notices it. But it makes me feel good.

I bought an atomic solar water-resistant Casio G-Shock at Costco for
~$25 perhaps 10 years ago, but maybe a bit more recently. The battery
never runs down, the time is always accurate to within hundredths of a
second (or more or less, I only see seconds, which is good enough), the
band is still good, and I see no reason to buy a different watch.

It would be a sin to be buried with it. I hate waste.

My cell phone has to be recharged, and I would have to carry it around
with me. Both are a nuisance. The watch is just THERE and I don't need
to actually DO anything to make it work. I can also push a button and
make it light up when it's dark. It's a lot easier to read now that the
cataract surgery has gotten rid of 2.5D of astigmatism and 4D of
hyperopia. I'm having the other eye done after April 15th.

88F here today. Ski season is over.
