I'm not really a mitten type, but this does raise a
question -

What are the warmest gloves for boarding? I've got
2 pairs of Burton and they are crap. The only good
thing is the extra long sleeve. I have a pair of
heavy gloves from EMS with some high tech filling
that is pretty warm (even when wet), but they
dont have a long enough sleeve so you end up with
very cold wrists.

Given I've been riding in -10F or so conditions
part of this winter in VT, I'd really like some
warmer gloves!

Get something big enough to be able to fit more insulation
underneath. I wear a pair of shell mittens (no insulation), and
simply add layers depending on how cold it is. Just like dressing
for any other part of the body.

Same here. Baka, if memory serves from Bomber posts, you use OR Mt
Baker mitts, same ones I do.

The outer shell on those puppies is extremely waterproof. The only way
moisture gets in is if you don't cinch up the wrist pull and get snow
in, or if you take them off and get snow in.

The inner liner that came with them is very warm, in fact I only use
them on very cold days. On warmer days I use a thin glove liner.

Yep, the OR Mt Baker mitts, and yep, the removable liner that comes
with them is *really* warm, and yep, most days I just use a pair of
thin polypro glove liners under them.

These mittens have a removable liner insert and I guarantee that they are 10
times warmer than the commercial brand..

Spoke on the phone this afternoon with the company
and ordered a pair of the mutant modular mitts from
REI. Best of both worlds and assured me they are warm and dry

Thanks for the heads up on the company.
