Snow at Silver Star!

Vernon, BC: Silver Star has received over 20 cm of new snow in the last
24 hours. With an Alpine base of 37 cm, the Resort is preparing for an
early start for the Nordic ski season.

"With the early snow and anticipation of an early Nordic opening on
Friday, October 24, weather permitting, my team and I are optimistic
this will be a great ski season," said General Manager, Michael
Sherwood. "The Resort renovations and improvements are only days away
from completion." Environment Canada’s forecast is for continued
flurries for the rest of the day and tonight, with the freezing level
dropping to 1200 metres.

"I was out this morning on my skis to test the trails, and the snow is
excellent," said Glenn Bond, Nordic Manager (pictured below). "We are
excited to have Olympic Nordic Groomer, Len Gottselig, at the Resort for
the month of November grooming our trails. His expertise compliments our
Nordic grooming team well." The National Development Team arrives on
October 25, and throughout the month of November, more teams including
the Canadian National Cross Country Ski Team, National Training Centre
and Olympic athletes will all be training at the Resort.
