Problem is, I don't think ego is gonna ride hardboots or 168cm
boards. Since this thread is for ego, I'd think we should just stick with freestyle/freeriding stances for normal sized boards. Yes, I consider a 185 as normal size, but maybe most here on the slopes don't. "normal" length boards.....155-163, eh?? |

Look, my board is 160cm length, it's also wider than the regular ones and
I'm 180cm high. One more thing, please use centimeters 'cause I'm so lazy and I don't calculate as fast as I'd like... Thanks 4 all the help. |

On a 160 at you dimensions start with stance centered on the inserts.
Some boards have the centered stance marked (Burton does that I'm pretty sure). Go from there. |

I suggest starting with a stance width of around 50 cm (measured centre to centre) and experiment from there. If your board doesn't allow 50, go slightly wider rather than slightly narrower. Neil |

Again you missed the entire point; someone 5' will not have the same
stance as someone 6'6". Stance reccomendations are useless unless you know how tall someone is. "LeeD" ) writes: Not only are those carving stances out to lunch (I still use 17.5), but my freestyle centered stance is 22"! So I'm REALLY out to lunch, eh? |

Assuming your 180 cm comes with "normal length legs" I would guess your inseam is about 82 cm in which case I would start with a stance width of about 51cm. That follows the "inseam * .62" suggestion that I've gotten from some coaches. You might want to widen your stance from there if any of the following are true: -you are long legged -your hips are wide -your bidning angles are set to more than 15 degrees apart (i.e., 21/0, 15/-6 which are both 21 degrees apart) Mike T ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Unrestricted-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |
