Tignes - conditions on the glacier, early August

Dreadful. Worst in living memory according the the piste services director there yesterday.

Considerably less snow than usual last winter, combined with high winds whenever it did snow blowing it all off the peaks (much better lower down Jan-March in the Savoie last season), plus a few heatwaves this summer has left the glacier in a sorry state.
