Default Need Recommendation for November in Colorado

If you are going to the City/Denver, why not wait until you get there
and then decide which Summit County ski area has the best snow? *There
are plenty of places to stay in Denver, you may be able to get
discount tickets for whichever location you decide to go to, and you
can probably go to Keystone, Breck and Copper if you have three days
available. *There are plenty of places to stay in Frisco which is
central to Breck, Keystone and Copper, and A-basin may also be open by
then. *I'd leave my options open at this time. *

Thanks for all of the suggestions. After corresponding with Copper
who said they'd probably ony be about half open on T'giving, I think
we'll probably do what many suggested--wait until about the second
week of November and then decide. I appreciate the input!

Cheers,

Copper half open by Thanksgiving? Yeah, that's wishful thinking.
I've never seen that happen in the 20 years I've lived here. Usually
they have the front side of the mountain open by then. By
Thanksgiving they have American Eagle, American Flyer and Rendezvous
open. If you are lucky, they will also have the green lifts open on
the west side and possilby Super Bee. I guess you could say then that
half the lifts are open but not half the terrian.

We're going to Denver for Thanksgiving and I was wondering if anyone
could recommend a resort that usually has snow in late November. *I
figured you guys would be as good a place to check as any. *We'll be
there Wed - Sat.

Oh, Sam Sieber, are you there?
Don't you usually ski Loveland before Turkey day?

I have been trying to get Sam to respond to various e-mails for about
9 months now. *Nothing. *I did try to reach a Sam Seiber by telephone,
in the Denver area, but learned that he had died. *I don't know if it
was our Sam Seiber or not. *Hope he responds to this, but I'm rather
afraid that he is no longer alive.

Check out his website whois info and see if it's the same address/

Ahh, Yup! Loveland will have at least a few runs by Turkey day.
Sometimes just about all of the blues & greens are go for T-Day.
Just depends on the early snows, which last year were MIA. But
hey, I hear that we are due for snow above 10,000ft this weekend,
so lets go skiing this weekend! No operationg lifts natch!

Sam "I thought the stock suggestion was Vail, ALWAYS Vail" Seiber

BTW, since last year, I have become quite the narrow gauge railroad
buff. Cumbres & Toltec railroad rock!

The weather report for tonight calls for snow in the higher
elevations. When the weather clears on Saturday we should have snow
above treeline. I'll post some pics if it happens.

I salute you, and raise a flagon of mead to you. If your name was
something other than, "Billy Bob," it might live ... perhaps for
years.
