How was the water level? Was at McConaughy in Nebraska over Labor Day, lowest they had seen it in 50 years. -- Chester Bullock, Tenxible Solutions - Tangible, Flexible Website Hosting, Design and Marketing http://www.tenxible.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Do you really own your domain name? Fishing talk - was: rsam question

Was at McConaughy in Nebraska over Labor Day, lowest they had seen it in 50 years. Last week I went to Bullfrog for the first time in years. It's the closest to an urban population (SLC) and gets most of the goobers, inbreds, and crowds. Page has many advantages, but the fishing hasn't been as good at that end lately so we opted for Bullfrog. I was at Hite the week before. The houseboats were moored 1/2 mile below the marina site, where the lake was! At the marina it was mud flats with channels where what was left of the rivers were running through. They had dredged enough for a dirt launch and path to get to water deep enough to motor through. They are reporting that the lake is down 90', or 1/2 full, the last I heard. The fishing was hot and cold. That's waaaaaay better than cold and cold! They are fat this year. I got 3 smallmouths last trip in the 2# range and 3 stripers in the 4#, as well as other smaller ones. Those smallmouth were amazing. Very dark in color and FAT, 1/3 as "tall" as they were long (12 to 14"). I think we're going to hit Bullfrog in the next week or two then as we get into Oct. the fishing will improve in the South and we'll make some trips that way. It's fun to fish during the day and have Page to go into at night and play some pool and watch the baseball playoffs. Let me know if your heading down or if you want to meet us when we go. |

No, I won't be down there anytime soon. I have some friends who live in Page, but I prefer the canyons that are (if memory serves) to the west of Bullfrog and Hall's Crossing. Some nice quiet areas in there to camp, ski and fish. May not even be accessible if it is 90' down though. That must be a sight. I wonder what sorts of things are resurfacing that were on the bottom... -- Chester Bullock, Tenxible Solutions - Tangible, Flexible Website Hosting, Design and Marketing http://www.tenxible.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Do you really own your domain name? Maybe it's your newsserver that needs a wakeup call? Remember NNTP is not a guaranteed protocol like email. Read your RFCs. My posts to RSAM have gone through 100% of the time. But I use xmission, so I suppose that might have something to do with it. -Astro --- maximum exposure f/2.8 http://www.xmission.com/users/hound/...3-04/index.htm --- |

I knew that was coming.. I was in Sorels. The dog has his own booties. Made out of nylon with high friction pads. Made by RuffWear(tm). They're quite nice and make him able to go out in very cold. http://www.ruffwear.com/products/dog_boots/ (I am not associated with Ruff Wear. My dog is just a satisfied customer.) -klaus |
