Weekend skiing from Venice (Treviso)
Hi
Looks like I might be able to squeeze in a weekend travelling Thursday 17th - Sunday 20th. However, due to hubbys work we can't leave till after 6pm on Thursday and have to be back Sunday night - the 'best' fit flights seems to be to Venice (Treviso) We would arrive late Thursday night (22:30 ish) so would probably stay near the airport that night, hire a car the next morning and head to the slopes... question is which slopes? where's a good place to stay? want a reasonably short transfer but my geography is pretty ropey so no idea where to start looking. Help! Christine |

Help! Christine I've done a weekend ski to Venice a few times now. We've always gone to Cortina because its less than two hours drive. We always stay here http://www.cortina.dolomiti.com/alberghi/coronadip/ which is the annexe to the Hotel Corona (good food and has a bus stop outside). Despite its reputation for being expensive I found it quite reasonable (as long as you dont do much shopping). I think you would only need a local lift pass for the weekend which includes the incredible Lagazuoi - Armentarola run. Take a look here http://www.dolomiti.org/dengl/Cortina/index.html. James. |
