Burton Canyon board flex changes
I understand that Burton changed the Canyon at some point making it
less stiff. Does anyone know what year they made this change? I'm looking at buying a used 2003 and want to make sure it performs as well as older Canyons. |

I believe the base material may have also been changed, from a sintered base to an extruded base... if I recall it went from being a "wide Custom" to a "wide Bullet or Charger". Sorry, don't remember what year, but it may have been 2003. Search through old posts on Google, I know this has been discussed before. Mike T |

Mike T I've got a 2001/2002 Canyon, when it was still the wide Custom - exactly the same construction. I think the following year was the same, the graphics with the Iris' on. 2003/4 it became a wide Charger, so basically a replacement for the Bullet. I started off with a Bullet and they're pretty crap (soft base!). I'd recommend an old construction Canyon though, I've taken my all over the hill, it snaps in the pipe, handles rails, and when the snow gets deep, you can take it off the beaten path. My only complaint is that it's so good, it makes the hill smaller - which means more time on the chair and less time on the hill! LukAs |
