Default global warming and lake effect snow

colorparam0100,0100,0100/paramYesterday's Syracuse, NY Post-Standard reported on an interesting study
published in the November issue of the Journal of Climate. The study
suggests that global warming is responsible for increased lake effect snow
in the Great Lakes region. The journal abstract suggests that "areas
downwind of the Great Lakes may experience increased lake-effect snowfall
for the foreseeable future."

Less ice, more snow. Makes sense. Now, if we could only get the world's jet
stream to reverse, we'd be skiing here in Milwaukee !
