Default Rec.skiing.nordic on the Munger

I skied from Duluth to Carlton with Toby Markowitz today. Rough break as Toby
broke a pole within 15 minutes of starting. I hustled back to the car and got a
classical rollerski pole and brought it back up to him. Meanwhile, He'd
one-poled another ten thousand miles I think. Or maybe just 4 or 5. Anyway, it
was a fun trip and fun to ski with somebody instead of solo. Maybe too many
birch and aspen/poplar leaves on the trail to really push off in some places,
but other wise a nice day.

Nice downhill with a tailwind after leaving Toby in Carlton. Land speed record
of 1:15:00 to the parking lot from Carlton. For me anyway.
