Austria: where to go if advanced intermediate?
Hi, does anyone have advice about where to go skiing in Austria in the
first week of March, we are advanced intermediates.. last year we went to Cervinia in Italy which was great. thanks Mike Harris |

I would normally agree with St Anton, but saying Cervinia was
great....I think you may be better off going to Lech/Zurs or Ischgl, which both have tonnes of intermediate terrain. Cervinia is an extremely flat area with some serious overgrading of runs, typical for an Italian resort. I think you may find some of St Anton's skiing (lots of unpisted itineraries and busy home runs, all south facing) quite difficult. Other areas in Austria worth considering would be Obergurgl (snow sure but fairly small), or Saalbach (a bit low, but should still be OK in early March).
