Default Skiing Advice

Looking for spots that will be a nice supris near bridgeport ct to do
classic skiing. also interested in learning to skate - do i need new
gear for that? i've read about the sort of combo skis - where you can
skate and track ski with them. are these worth buying? thanks for the
advice...

I think you can take lessons and rent skate equipment he

buy till you've tried it and had some lessons.

This yahoo group will have info on smaller parks and ungroomed places:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ctnordicskiers/, perhaps some closer to
Bridgeport.

Way long time ago I used to ski in a park at the base of East Rock
Park in New Haven -- just made a course of a couple hundred yards in
length. Kind of boring...
