Now I'm totally confused about the weather. Both Intellicast and The Weather Underground are calling for 2 to 4 *inches* of snow at Alta today: http://www.intellicast.com/Local/USLocalStd.asp?loc=usutsr295&seg=LocalWeather&prod grp=Forecasts&product=Forecast&prodnav=none&pid=no ne http://www.wunderground.com/US/UT/Snowbird.html OTOH, Klaus says it dumping, with a foot on the ground already. (Yeah, I know, he's the next canyon over, but still.) The national radar loop sure makes it look like it's dumping there. (assuming that the indicated rain is snow up in the canyons - a pretty sure bet this time of year.) http://www.intellicast.com/Local/USNationalWide.asp?loc=usa&seg=LocalWeather&prodgr p=RadarImagery&product=LongRadarLoop&prodnav=none Meanwhile, it appears to be snowing in the Carolinas and Tenessee, while it's tee shirt weather here in Michigan. Has the world gone crazy? Or is it just me? -- //-Walt // // Watch this space... |

So basically 18" since 3:00 AM . But they got pretty close for Alta at 4:00. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/Saltlake/ava...LLINS.RPT.html Basically 7". They'll catch up later in the storm. You can get all the snotel sites from he http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/Saltlake/snow/ The national radar loop sure makes it look like it's dumping there. LCC is now closed according to the Interstate warning signs. it's tee shirt weather here in Michigan. Has the world gone crazy? Or is it just me? It's tee shirt weather here too. Long sleeved. Waterproof. -klaus |

Walt, where in MI?

(Kneale Brownson) wrote Walt's in Southern Michigan. If it's Tee-Shirt weather where he is, it's nice to have a fleece on top of it for "Up North". I did see someone sliding at Boyne yesterday in a bathing suit. Hope he didn't have a skin-on-snow contact event. Would have meant some blood letting. There were many kids skiing in T-shirts of the short sleve variety at Boyne Mt. yesterday. It's not just the south that's experiencing a heat wave. Spring skiing in February! Let's hope it doesn't last. A troll! :-) Yes, I am a troll. But while I live below the bridge, I try to ski above it whenever possible. (i.e. the day before yesterday.) Anyway I was a chauffer this weekend so I was unable to ski. However, my bro & father were at Brule. They said the snow was fantastic pretty much the whole day despite warm weather. I myself live in Appleton WI and spent last weekend at Brule, next weekend will be spent at Brule and the next ski outing will be at Indianhead and Blackjack. Yeah, there was a lot of snow down south this year. Emphasis on the "was." Currently Fifty degrees farenheit with a steady soaking rain falling. I think I hear the fat lady singing. Good thing I had the forethought to buy airline tickets to SLC for the weekend. -- //-Walt // // http://tinyurl.com/yubxo |
